WebPulse is designed to minimize data collection. Here's what we store:
- Scanned URLs: We store the URLs you scan to generate reports and provide history features.
- Email (registered users): We store your email address for account management and login.
- Scan results: We cache scan results for 5 minutes to avoid redundant scans.
- Usage data: We track scan counts per user/IP for quota enforcement.
2. What We Don't Collect
- We do NOT collect personal browsing data from scanned websites.
- We do NOT track visitors to your website.
- We do NOT sell or share your data with third parties.
3. Data Retention
- Guest scans (no login): Deleted after 7 days.
- Registered users: Scan history kept indefinitely while your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: All data is removed within 30 days.
4. How We Use Data
- To provide and improve our scanning service.
- To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
- To send service-related emails (login verification, plan changes).
- We do NOT send marketing emails without explicit consent.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures:
- All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Passwords hashed with HMAC-SHA256.
- JWT tokens for session management.
- Data stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Export your scan history.
- Close your account at any time.
7. Children's Privacy
WebPulse is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
